It doesn’t seem like it but two years ago today, on 19th June 2017, the ashes of the late Harry Dodson were finally interred.
Sadly, at the time of Harry’s death in 2005 the instructions as to where he wished his remains to lie were missing. Thankfully, the document containing those wishes was discovered with the effects of his wife, ‘Jane’, after she passed away in 2016.
Serendipitously, the undertaker, by then long-retired, had kept Harry’s ashes in storage until he and they were tracked-down by Jennifer Davies in 2017.
In accordance with his wishes, two years ago today, Harry’s remains were placed in his mother’s grave at St. Matthew’s Church in Blackmoor, where Harry had grown up on the Earl of Selborne’s estate.
